The Washington Commanders organization has suspended a member of its staff after he was caught making controversial and condemnatory comments about the NFL, its players and its fans.
Rael Enteen, the Washington DC franchise’s vice president of content, was secretly filmed during a meeting with an undercover journalist, making shocking claims about the team’s players and fan base.
Enteen, who has worked for the Commanders for four years, was caught calling the team’s black players “homophobic.”
He told the O’Keefe Media reporter: “A large portion (of the Commanders’ roster) are very low-income African Americans who come from a community that is inherently very homophobic.”
“I love hip hop, hip hop is very homophobic,” he added. “It’s a cultural thing that I hope will improve.”

Enteen’s accusations of homophobia extended beyond the team’s black community, as he also claimed that 50 percent of the squad is white and religious, suggesting they are also homophobic in line with anti-LGBTQIA+ Christian teachings.
Enteen not only claimed that players were homophobic, but also called many in the league “dumb,” suggesting that the physical impact of the game actually leads to a deterioration of their intelligence.
“Obviously, there’s a spectrum. There are some who are very dumb and some who are very smart,” he said during what appeared to be a second date.
‘I think there is also a very sad but true reality: some people start out smart and get hit in the head so many times that they don’t stay smart.’
His attacks didn’t stop with the players. Enteen also took aim at the Commanders fans and fans across the NFL, calling them “mouth breathers.”
“I would say most NFL fans are alcoholics with a high school education,” he told the anonymous reporter.
He went on to characterize football fans as “violent” because of frequent fights in the stands during matches.
Enteen went on to criticize the NFL’s social justice initiatives, such as the league’s commitment to Black Lives Matter, Pride, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, as “performative” for the sake of good publicity.
“It’s to make as much money as possible,” he said.
Enteen not only criticized the league’s initiatives, but also denounced NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell as a “$50 million puppet.”
He suggested Goodell is controlled by NFL owners, accusing Jerry Jones, the owner of the Dallas Cowboys, of really pulling the strings.
He also claimed that Jones has racist and homophobic prejudices. “I think he hates gays and blacks,” he said.
Enteen joined the Commanders in 2020 as Senior Director of Content Strategy before being promoted to Vice President of Content in April 2022.
He previously worked for the New York Jets for two years from 2016-2018 as Director of Digital and Social Media.
