Washington Commanders safety Jeremy Reaves followed up his decisive playoff victory over the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday night by getting down on one knee and proposing to his girlfriend.
After a vital 30-24 overtime win sealed the Commanders’ first playoff berth since 2020, Reaves made sure there were double celebrations in Washington when he asked the biggest question to join Mikaela Worley on the sideline of the field.
A stunned Mikaela became visibly emotional before joining her NFL star boyfriend, getting down on one knee and accepting his proposal, leading to joyful scenes as the crowd celebrated their engagement.
—Of course, she said yes. You’re in the playoffs now,” NBC’s Mike Tirico said.
Reaves’ teammates were delighted for their good friend and now fiancée, who was later seen showing off her ring and hugging Commanders punter Tress Way before heading down the tunnel.
Jeremy and Mikaela, who is a physician assistant from Florida, have been dating for about 18 months after first going public in the summer of 2023.
Commanders star Jeremy Reaves proposed to his girlfriend after making the playoffs.
His partner, Mikaela Worley, accepted the proposal while the couple shared an emotional hug.
She has been a regular at his NFL games both home and away during their relationship, and most recently made the 2,500-mile trip to see him play in New Orleans.
Reaves, 28, is currently in his sixth season with the Commanders after being elevated to their active roster in 2019.
After a total of 60 appearances, he recorded 126 tackles and became a first-team All-Pro and Pro-Bowler in 2022.
The former South Alabama star went undrafted as a free agent by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2018 before being waived shortly after.
