Commanders coach Dan Quinn presented the game ball to Washington legend London Fletcher following Sunday’s win over the Browns, which came just weeks after the former linebacker lost his wife to cause of cancer.

Charne Page Fletcher died tragically, reportedly from breast cancer, late last month. She was only 50 years old. They had been married for 18 years and had three children together.

“My soul hurts and we are devastated,” the Super Bowl champion wrote in a heartbreaking tribute after his death.

On Sunday, Fletcher was in the radio booth as the Commanders dominated Cleveland 34-13 in Washington.

After the game, Quinn handed the 49-year-old a ball while conducting a radio interview. Fletcher hugged the head coach after the touching gesture, according to ESPN.

The former linebacker announced his wife’s death on September 21 with a touching tribute on social media.

“My wife of 18 years and mother of my 3 children lost her battle with cancer last Tuesday,” Fletcher wrote.

‘My soul hurts and we are devastated and (heartbroken) as a family, yet we are comforted by the fact that she is no longer suffering.

‘Rest easy now “Izzy” I will love you forever and a day.’ Fletcher also posted a series of photos with his wife and children.

The former linebacker spent 16 seasons in the NFL, playing for the St Louis Rams, Buffalo Bills and in Washington.

Fletcher was a four-time Pro Bowler and, in January 2000, helped the Rams defeat the Titans to win Super Bowl XXXIV.
