Cute animals captured in funny poses – what’s not to like?
The Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards have announced which photos made it to the finals this year.
In one, a proboscis monkey is caught hugging a tree like an excited teenage boy, while another sees a gopher making a serious effort to play a flute-like stick.
Another entry shows an Indian tiger proudly carrying a tree trunk, as if returning a Christmas tree to his family.

Andrew Mayes’ entry, entitled Monday Morning Mood, features a pied starling that appears to be in a bad mood
Chee Kee Teo’s Time for School shows a smooth-haired otter being carried over a body of water by its parent
Other finalists include a Singaporean otter dragging his baby back and forth for swimming lessons and a pied starling, pictured right, who looks like she’s suffering from the Monday blues.
The photos will be on display at the NEC in Birmingham this month.
The contest is meant to highlight the hilarity of the animal kingdom.
The winning photographer will be treated to a week-long safari in Kenya.
