Radio presenter Lauren Phillips found herself in her place during an awkward interview with comedian Kitty Flanagan.

On Monday morning’s edition of Nova FM’s Jase and Lauren, Phillips asked the Fisk star if he had any control over how his hit Netflix series is released.

“Can you choose whether to delete shows like one episode a week, or whether you can just delete a whole season, because I’ve become a real drunk?” the breakfast radio star asked.

Kitty then responded with her trademark sarcasm: ‘Yeah, but look, here’s the thing, Lauren. Can I tell you that it took me nine months to do it?

Screw you if you want to see it in three hours. I want you to at least take six weeks and look forward to it and enjoy it.’

Kitty continued her comical tirade while making Lauren aware of the virtue of patience.

“If you want to binge, you can wait six weeks and then watch it all online.”

However, Lauren persisted in finding out if Kitty has control over the show’s release schedule.

—So you decide if that’s how you do it?

‘Can I decide? I think I can actually throw tantrums and say ehhhhhhh!! Don’t turn it all off at once! Don’t turn it all off at once! And I hope they listen to me,” Kitty joked.

It comes just days after Lauren is said to be demanding a massive payday after her Nova FM radio show beat rival breakfast show The Kyle and Jackie O Show in the ratings.

Lauren and her co-host Jason ‘Jase’ Hawkins’ radio show was axed by KIIS FM last year to make way for Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O Henderson’s big expansion into Melbourne.

But the duo had ultimate revenge after moving to rival network Nova FM, and their show continued to beat Kyle and Jackie O in the Melbourne radio ratings.

Lauren is now said to be asking for a “massive raise” following the success of the show.

“Lauren Phillips is doing quite well in her market with her co-host Jase Hawkins, but wants to rival Kyle and Jackie O’s pay packages,” a source told Daily Mail Australia.

“Lauren Phillips is doing quite well in her market, with her co-presenter Jase Hawkins, but she wants to rival the pay packages of Kyle and Jackie O,” a source told Daily Mail Australia. In the photo Jackie O and Kyle Sandilands.

But the source says Lauren is completely out of his league. In the pecking order, she’s still relatively new to radio compared to Kyle and Jackie O, who have been on the airwaves for nearly two decades.

‘Sydney-based opposition breakfast show KIIS FM is in a $200 million deal that dwarfs the Melbourne-based broadcaster. However, they are in very different leagues,” the source added.

“You can see how he’s drawn the line, but while Jase and Lauren are good talents, they’re just not a brand like Kyle and Jackie O. They’re also not properly established like Hughsey and Kate.

“Nova also doesn’t have that kind of money to pay talent more than their value.”

The source added that the salary conversation is out of control and radio has always been an uneven playing field.

‘Either you have an average salary or you are earning millions. The salary contempt is scandalous and always has been,” they stated.
