College football star Ryan Pellum arrested for alleged 'pistol whip' and gunfire incident on Christmas Day

Former Oregon Wide Receiver Ryan Pellum has reportedly been arrested on suspicion of hitting someone in the head with a gun and then shooting two bullets.

According to Oregon LivePellum, who recently entered the transfer portal, is charged with assault with use of a firearm over the Christmas Day incident.

He was detained near the Oregon campus in Eugene earlier this week, but the alleged attack took place in his hometown of Long Beach, California.

Pellum is said to appear in court in California later this month, with police alleging he pistol-whipped someone with a 9mm handgun, leaving the victim requiring stitches in the head.

The freshman is then accused of firing two rounds from the gun in an unknown direction.

Pellum is the cousin of former Oregon linebacker Don Pellum, who is currently the defensive coordinator for the Ducks.
