The Banshees Of Inisherin star previously admitted her love for yoga during a past interview with The Guardian in 2012.

“Life moves in cycles. I’m not going to say there was a particular day or time (when things changed), or even that I’m a different man,” he explained at the time.

“I enjoy my job more, I enjoy being a father more, I enjoy doing things I never thought I would enjoy.” When asked what he enjoys, Farrell replied: “Like yoga.”

Colin has recently spoken candidly about his eldest son, James, and his diagnosis with a rare neurogenetic disorder called Angelman syndrome.

While talking to People Earlier this month, the actor spoke about the Colin Farrell Foundation he launched in honor of his son.

He shares son James, 20, with ex Kim Bordenave, and is father to another son, Henry, 14, whom he welcomed with ex Alicja Bachleda-Curus in 2009.

Colin also spoke about how James inspired his journey to sobriety, expressing, “James was about two years old when I got clean, got sober.”

‘He was a very, very important part of me giving up the bottle because I was not in a position to be the father of a child with such demanding needs.’

“If it weren’t for my sobriety, I wouldn’t be able to be there for James and join in the wonders of his life and support him in the ways I can.”

He added: “I don’t want to present myself as the perfect father. I’ve made mistakes in every way, but you have to be present… I’m close.”

James was born in 2003 in Los Angeles and Farrell recalls that “he was a very quiet baby. He didn’t coo or make any sounds. I thought I’d won the lottery and he was quiet, but it’s not like that at all.”

“If James had been my second child and not my first, I would have known sooner, because when Henry was born and I heard him coo, I thought, ‘Is a baby supposed to coo? ‘”

“But he wasn’t meeting the benchmarks. He couldn’t sit up, he wasn’t crawling, he couldn’t stand, so we knew something was up.”

The Lobster actor revealed that his eldest son had been misdiagnosed with cerebral palsy in the past, “because he had a lot of the same characteristics. And that was a disappointment, for sure.”

At one point, a pediatric neurologist recommended that James be tested for Angelman syndrome.

‘One of the characteristics of Angelman syndrome is fits of laughter. And the doctor saw that James laughed a lot and made this movement (moves his hands).’

Colin then remembered that the questions he had asked during testing for Angelman syndrome had come back positive.

‘I remember the first two questions I asked were, “What’s the life expectancy and how much pain is involved?” And the doctor said, “Life expectancy, as far as we know, is the same for you and me, and there’s no pain.”

Farrell also said that “parents struggle” with one of the symptoms of the rare disorder: seizures.

“Luckily, James hasn’t had a major seizure in about 10 or 11 years, but I’ve been in the back of ambulances, I’ve been in the hospital with him…”

His foundation is “committed to transforming the lives of individuals and families living with intellectual disabilities through education, awareness, advocacy and innovative programs,” according to the official website.

“This is the first time I’ve talked about it and obviously the only reason I’m talking about it is because I can’t ask James if he wants to do this,” Farrell said.

The star added that she “wanted to do something in the realm of providing greater opportunities for families who have a child with special needs to receive the support they deserve, basically assistance in all areas of life.”
