A decadent new range of donuts is causing a stir on social media days after it hit the shelves of Coles stores across Australia.

The supermarket’s ‘Donut Mind If I Do’ collection has already gone viral on TikTok after Adelaide food blogger Sammy Dyer praised it in a recent video.

“Guess Coles has a new batch of donuts – I grabbed two boxes because I couldn’t help myself,” the 25-year-old wrote in the caption.

The donuts, which retail for $6 in packs of two, come in a variety of delicious flavors—and Mr. Dyer claims these are the best store-bought ones he’s ever eaten.

“Compared to other supermarkets they are the best I’ve had,” he told Daily Mail Australia.

The Instagram food critic said he picked up two boxes, one with a donut with cookies and cream and raspberry cheesecake, and the second with a caramel crunch and choc caramel donut.

Other flavors include chocolate ice cream jam, rocky road and the old Aussie classic, fairy bread.

Mr Dyer said the donuts were “quite filled” and made from a “heavy” dough he liked, calling them “delicious” and “unreal.”

But his review, which has racked up more than 372,000 views since it was shared online on September 16, divided opinion.

While dozens said they were excited to try the new range, others said they were disappointed with how dry the donuts were, aside from the filling.

“Such a disappointment, they had potential but no,” wrote one man.

Since its launch earlier this month, the Donut Mind If I Do range has proved particularly popular in an Australian state.

Cole’s bakery cake category manager, Katie Storey, said: news.com.au that Victorian shoppers eat more donuts than anywhere else in the country.

“Doughnuts have grown in popularity, especially with millennials and Gen Z shoppers,” said Ms. Storey.

“We wanted to develop a range of high-quality, flavorful donuts to inspire and mimic what customers are currently buying from independent donut retailers.”
