Coleen admitted she considered moving the family to Devon with Wayne, but ultimately decided against it due to the age of her four children, who are all under 15.

She said her eldest son Kai is about to start his GCSEs this year and his football is going well, while her other children are already settled into school so it seemed unfair to move them.

Wayne took over as head coach of Major League Soccer side DC United last year, but it was previously revealed that Coleen had previously told her friends that He hates the United States and would not move there..

A source close to Coleen told MailOnline at the time: “She’s made her views clear to Wayne. There’s no way she wants to go to Washington. Last time, she absolutely hated being there.”

“She doesn’t want to live outside the North West of England, let alone return to Washington. The family is more settled than ever. They have four children at school and all of Coleen’s family live close by.”

The source added: “There’s no way she wants to give all that up to go live somewhere she hates.”

Wayne took over at Plymouth just four months after being sacked by Birmingham City.

Since then, he has taken on a number of different roles, including a commentating role on the BBC for Euro 2024 and appearing on podcasts to delve into his past.
