Coleen Rooney has shrugged off public opinion about her and husband Wayne, insisting her life and her marriage are no one’s business but her own.
WAG Coleen, 37, married former footballer Wayne, also 37, in 2008 and their union has been at the center of many scandals since, including Wayne’s involvement with other women.
However, Coleen – who will appear in the Disney+ documentary Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story later this month – insists the public may not know the full story, despite people’s assumptions.
She explained The Sunday times: ‘I think when you’re in the public eye, people look at you and think they know you, but they don’t. Do we know each other.
“There is love, and if it wasn’t there, we wouldn’t still be together. So I’m not stupid.

“I know people might say, ‘Oh, I would have left him years ago,’ but why, when you still have something to work on? You can comment on my life all you want, but that’s the way I want to live it. And hopefully it will always remain that way.’
Elsewhere, Coleen – mum to Kai, 13, Klay, 10, Kit, seven, and Cass, five, spoke to Wayne – about how the people close to her in her private life perceive her.
She claimed that she does have a few friends who happen to be the other half of a footballer, but emphasized that her friends don’t have to be in the public eye and that she can always tell if someone is being ‘sincere’ with her.
She said: ‘They’re not in the spotlight, and that shows that with this whole WAG thing you don’t have to be famous if you’re a footballer’s wife.
‘I have some natural friendships (with other mothers). But I can see it when someone tries to force a friendship because of your status. I am very sensible about that.’
It comes after Rebekah Vardy destroyed Coleen and Wayne’s marriage.
The 41-year-old reality star – who is married to footballer Jamie Vardy, 36 – was furious after Coleen discussed the Wagatha Christie feud with British Vogue and took to Instagram to criticize her rival.
After a fan accused her of being jealous of Coleen, Rebekah hit back: ‘Jealous of what exactly! Seriously, spare me the pain…I wouldn’t tolerate it if my husband slept with whores! No excuses.’

In the interview, Coleen spoke about the defamation lawsuit brought against her by Rebekah after Coleen accused her of leaking details of Coleen’s private life to the press.
Coleen won the case, but Rebekah criticized her for bringing it up again, writing: ‘What I don’t understand is why you would want to keep talking about it. It’s boring now! The audience doesn’t care, and neither do I. She won and that’s the end of it! Be happy, move on… because I know I did.
“She just can’t let it go.”
One fan defended Coleen, saying: ‘You dragged her through court to hang yourself so she has the right to tell her side. You made the mistakes here, not them!’
Rebekah argued back, “What a year later! Give me a break! And yes, I did, because I’m not doing anything wrong! And I will take that to my grave! If I had done it, believe me, I would have waved the middle finger and said yes and all that!’
The Instagram user replied: “However, you have been found guilty by the highest court cases and you can’t really preach innocence now can you? I know you would rather it go away, but she still has the right to tell her side and also to share her experiences with this ordeal, and people want to listen.”
And Rebekah continued, “I’ve preached innocence from day one and that won’t change! And you mean to tell me that they don’t get things wrong… because I have a very long list that they screw up! But it doesn’t fit the story! It’s fine, I’m cool with being the bad guy! Maybe I’ll just capitalize on that now.’
Meanwhile, Rebekah’s jokes about Coleen’s marriage are unlikely to bother her as Coleen recently admitted her marriage was a ‘struggle’, but she wants to fight for it.

Coleen said British Vogue: ‘We’ve had our ups and downs. Of course everyone knows. It was hard to get through this in the public eye, but there was always love. When love is gone, it is meaningless. But if not, you have something to work for.
“It’s been a struggle at times. I look at (every) situation we’re in and think, ‘Can we get rid of that? Is it worth getting rid of that?’ I don’t just give up.
‘It irritates you straight away, but I’ve always given myself time. And there have been times when it took longer than others to figure out what I want. There have been doubts. “Will this work?” I have been full of frustration and pain.”
Coleen added: “We’ve been through so much together. But another thing is that we never distanced ourselves from it. We own it. I remember having a conversation with someone about this and I said, “You know what your wife does every day and night? At least I know what my husband does!” It may not be right, but I know. People lie to themselves.’
