Legendary British rockers Coldplay are currently performing their Music of the Spheres tour in Melbourne and frontman Chris Martin recently reunited with a local Oasis tribute band.
The English singer, 47, walked into a recording studio on Monday and heard the band Shakerfaker rehearsing and was stunned by how good they were.
Martin came into the studio to tell the band that he was incredibly impressed by their performance of Oasis’ music, much to the delight of lead singer Kieran O’Sullivan.
The band shared a photo on social media of Martin happily posing with them and captioned it with some revealing words.
‘Everyone, meet the new Shakerfaker fan. “You may know him from Coldplay, but we know him as the charming guy who popped his head into our rehearsal room,” they began.
Chris said, “Sorry to interrupt, but you sound fantastic,” which was nice. He reviewed our set for Saturday and approved it.
‘Enjoy your stay, Chris. Thank you for coming to say “yellow”.’
O’Sullivan later revealed that the fact that his music gained Martin’s approval meant a lot to him.
