An alleged pedophile and hairdresser has been accused of using threats to force a 15-year-old girl to carry out violent and sexual acts.

Detectives from the New South Wales Police Sexual Crimes Team arrested the 28-year-old man at Safety Beach, about 30 kilometers north of Coffs Harbour, on Wednesday following an investigation that began in August.

“It is alleged that the man had been grooming a 15-year-old girl he had met online and was threatening to send her videos of herself carrying out various compromising acts including self-harm and sexual acts,” police said Thursday. tomorrow. .

“During a search of the property, police located and seized several electronic devices which will undergo further forensic examination.”

He was taken to Coffs Harbor Police Station and charged with using a transport service to engage in sexual activity with a child, doing or planning to harm a person under 16, grooming a person under 16 to have sexual relations and threatening to kill. , threatening serious harm, sending indecent material to a person under 16 and causing a child to engage in sexual activity.

He was refused bail and appeared at Coffs Harbor Local Court on Wednesday.

“Sadistic Sextortion is different from typical cases of Sextortion because the offender is not doing it for financial gain, but rather the victims are coerced into producing extreme sexual and violent content,” he said.

‘We want children to know that there is always someone who will listen to them and that there are things we can do to get them out of any situation, no matter how scary it is or what the bully is telling them.

“I hope this incident also serves as a warning to parents who may be aware that their children are self-harming and that there may be deeper reasons for this that need to be explored with them in a supportive way.”
