A committed supporter of Donald Trump was shocked when a CNN correspondent told him that God is not mentioned in the US Constitution.
In a promotional clip ahead of the release of the network’s ‘MissinfoNation: The Trump Faithful,’ correspondent Donie O’Sullivan interviews a member of MAGA Nation who is unimpressed by the work mainstream reporters have been doing.
The woman, whose name is Julie and is pictured wearing a hot pink hat that says “Trump Save America,” opens the clip by telling O’Sullivan: “The journalist’s job is to ask questions, allow the person to talk, and just report the facts. What was talked about.
‘Would you like me to explain the definition of a journalist?’
O’Sullivan refuses, but the two then argue over the contents of the country’s founding documents.
In the promotional clip, Julie maintains that her God-given rights, enshrined in the United States Constitution, allow her to express her beliefs about the 2020 election.
I was speaking to correspondent Donie O’Sullivan (pictured) who pointed out that there is no reference to God in the Constitution.
Julie argued that ‘the facts have shown that the election was stolen.
‘If you’re willing to look at that and accept it and really show what’s happening, that’s your problem, not ours.
“We want the God-given freedom upon which our Constitution and Bill of Rights are based.”
O’Sullivan claims that God-given rights and those found in the United States Constitution are “two different things,” to which Julie responds, “No, sir, they are not!” Read. READ the Constitution.
‘Read it aloud so you can hear what the words of the Constitution say.’
O’Sullivan tries to make his point when he then says, “God is not mentioned in the Constitution.”
‘Mister!’ Julie responds angrily as she begins to search for something on her phone before the clip cuts out.
O’Sullivan, who has made a name for himself covering online conspiracy theories that have, in recent years, intersected with the political landscape, is correct that the word “God” does not appear in the United States Constitution.
The Declaration of Independence, however, does refer to “our Creator,” who has endowed all men with “certain unalienable rights.” Rights for the protection of which the later Bill of Rights and the Constitution of the United States were written.

“God” is also explicitly referenced in the U.S. Pledge of Allegiance, on U.S. currency, and in most state constitutions, according to a 2017 Pew Research Center. analysis.
The full exchange will be available to view Sunday night during The Whole Story with Anderson Cooper, when O’Sullivan’s article will air.
Meanwhile, images of “everyman” across the country have indicated that, despite CNN’s journalism, average American opinion has shifted sharply away from Joe Biden and towards Donald Trump in recent years.
In a recent video captured outside Donald Trump’s hush money trial in Manhattan, a construction worker spoke his mind about the current president.
‘What is it like to see so many Republicans in Manhattan, so many Trump supporters in Manhattan? Does that surprise you?’ a Newsmax reporter asked the construction worker.
‘Not at all. She’s spinning now. It’s Trump’s turn again,” she said without delay.
Then they asked him for his message to Joe Biden.
Without missing a beat, he joked: ‘Fuck you.’
The unidentified man received online praise that confirmed his point.
‘This man represents the majority of America. Literally,’ one user wrote.
‘This is pretty much the feeling of all hard-working Americans. Really any American. Well said sir,’ wrote another.
