Hillary Clinton said “radical” Republicans have a plan underway to steal the 2024 presidential election in a video urging Americans to vote for their state’s Democratic legislatures.
The two-minute video urged Americans to look beyond the 2022 midterms and get out and vote in their local elections, as it claims a conservative-majority US Supreme Court may give state legislatures the power to overturn the results.
Clinton claimed that “the right-wing extremists already have a plan to literally steal the next presidential election — and they’re not hiding it.”
The failed 2016 Democratic presidential candidate has provided no evidence of these plans or examples of Republicans plotting to ‘steal’ the 2024 election.
The video was posted to Twitter by the progressive group Indivisible Guide, which runs an initiative aimed at promoting progressive candidates in local state races on a website called Crush the Coup.
While the group says the Democrats’ midterm victory is “crucial,” it also says they need to focus on the larger issues of “fighting MAGA Republicans at the state level.”
Crush the Coup’s homepage reads in big block letters: “MAGA has a plan to steal the election in 2024. We have to stop them today.”
She also claims that Democrats need to focus on winning 29 local seats in six swing states – Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
Hillary Clinton said in a video posted to Twitter that “the right-wing extremists already have a plan to steal the upcoming presidential election – and they’re not hiding it.”
Clinton sneered when she claimed that the prospect of Republicans trying to challenge the results of the upcoming presidential election “keeps me up at night” and said that allowing Republican legislatures to control states is “a threat to democracy.”
“A right-wing-dominated Supreme Court may be willing to rule on giving — yes you heard me right — state legislatures the power to overturn presidential elections,” said the former Secretary of State.
On January 6, 2021, 147 Republicans in the House and Senate objected to the results of the 2020 presidential election, while the vast majority of Congress voted to legalize the result as a victory for President Joe Biden.
Six Republicans in the Senate and 121 in the House supported objections to certification of the Arizona election result while 128 in the House of Representatives and seven in the Senate objected to the Pennsylvania result.
Any Republican who still questions the outcome of the 2020 presidential election is called an “election denier,” even though Democrats have asked questions — and continue to question — about the results of some previous elections.
Now, Clinton questions the results a full two years before the election, despite her claims that Republicans promoting allegations of election fraud are helping advance the Kremlin’s agenda.
The former secretary of state said, “The right-wing-dominated Supreme Court may be about to rule on giving state legislatures … power to overturn presidential elections.”
Clinton said in June 2021 that elected officials who suggest the 2020 election was stolen or conducted unfairly aid Russian President Vladimir Putin’s efforts to undermine American democracy.
We never thought we had to worry about domestic enemies. “We never thought we had to worry about people who didn’t believe in our democracy,” Clinton said during an MSNBC interview at the time.
She continued, “Unfortunately, what we’ve seen over the past four years and especially since the election is that we have people in our country doing Putin’s work.” “They are doing his job to sow distrust and sow division.”
The Indivisible Mentor is a progressive group that formed in response to the election of Donald Trump in 2016, but describes the former president as “a symptom of ailing democracy, not its cause.”
In Clinton’s video, she said Republicans are on a mission to make sure that the popular vote or Electoral College results do not determine the outcome of the election. She also criticized the Electoral College as outdated.
Clinton won the popular vote in the 2016 prudent election by nearly 3 million votes – but Trump emerged victorious by winning the Electoral College by 74 votes.
In 2008, Clinton lost the Democratic presidential primary to eventual winner Barack Obama. She won the nomination in 2016, becoming the first woman to run for president under a major party. I lost to Trump.
Clinton has been promoting the Indivisible Guided Rollout Crash Project, which focuses on local elections in swing states in an effort to turn legislatures blue and prevent the conservative Supreme Court from allowing them to challenge election results in their states.
“The 2024 presidential election cannot be decided by the popular vote or even the outdated Electoral College, but by state legislatures, many of which are controlled by Republicans,” Clinton said.
She then promoted The Indivisible Guide’s “Crush the Coup” campaign.
The group explains that the United States faces two fundamental problems, that American democracy is “rigged” in favor of whites and the wealthy and that an “alliance of white nationalists and the wealthy” has emerged in the past decade to try to hang on to it. power.
They claim: “This is how we ended up with Trump.”
