Claudia Winkleman reveals that she starts her day with a coffee with 17 sugars in it

Claudia Winkleman starts her day drinking coffee with 17 sugars in it.

The 49-year-old mother of three describes her daily routine after the lockdown: ‘My day starts with a decaffeinated coffee with about 17 sugars, because why not? Life is too short.

“Then I go to school, come back, take a nap and talk for a long time with about three of my friends. Then I go to work, read aloud.

‘Maybe a spray tan, I’ll talk to my parents, I’ll have a big lunch and then a nap. By then it’s time to pick up the kids and help them with their homework.

‘I read all the time, then I take a warm bath and take one of the Cannaray Bright Days CBD Capsules. Then I go to bed… That’s my routine and it works for me.’

Claudia teamed up with Cannaray CBD – one of the UK’s leading CBD brands – after her cousin recommended CBD to improve sleep and deal with overall work and life pressures.

“During the lockdown, I was chatting with my cousin Sara – super hot, runs the music business – and she told me, ‘You should try CBD oil’. I was like, ‘What are you talking about?’

“She uses Cannaray and she sent me a bottle of Cannaray Bright Days oil. I’ve never waited 30 seconds in my life, but I’m wearing it [and waited for it to absorb]. Now it’s just part of my routine.”

Last month, Claudia – who is the weekend host of the BBC Radio 2 breakfast show and the co-host of BBC One hit Strictly Come Dancing – hinted that she might not be able to juggle both for much longer.

In a recent conversation with the Going For Goal podcast, Claudia – who will host both shows live on Saturday when Strictly returns in the fall – said: ‘My mom taught me to find something I enjoy doing, which I think that I have it…

She said: 'During the lockdown I was chatting with my cousin Sara – super hot, runs the music business – and she told me, 'You have to try CBD oil!''

“But I don’t know how long I can last!”

Claudia recently took over from Graham Norton as host of the flagship Radio 2 breakfast show which is being taped a few hours before Strictly goes live on a Saturday night and she confessed she struggles with nerves.

‘The first episode of Radio 2 I could hardly speak. I also get very nervous about presenting. Strictly speaking, not because I think I’m doing anything important, I’m not a doctor or a nurse or a front-line worker, but you just don’t want to mess it up.’

“But I like the Radio 2 listeners, what I like is that it’s immediate. But will I be nervous for the coming year? Yeah, I think it’ll be that long if I don’t get fired.

“If I get fired, I’ll understand.”

Claudia told the podcast that she can cope with her hectic schedule by getting enough rest.

“I’ll stay in bed for the rest of the week, I’ll, I’ll just do the school run. I’m pretty good at absolute shutdown.

“Right now people say to me, ‘You’re busy’ and I say, ‘I finish work on Saturday at 1 pm.’ But if it picks up the rest of the time, I’ll just protect.’
