Claudia Winkleman gave her blessing to Romesh Ranganathan when she took over his BBC Radio 2 show on Saturday.
Comedian Romesh, 46, took over the Saturday morning slot from Strictly Come Dancing and Traitors host Claudia, who left the station last month.
Former presenter Claudia, 52, who spent 15 years on air for BBC Radio 2, fought back tears as she concluded her final show at the end of March.
Opening his first show this weekend, Romesh admitted he was feeling “very” nervous.
But Claudia was impressed with their efforts and took to social media to offer her blessing, writing on Instagram: “It’s BRILLIANT.”

Weakest Link host Romesh told listeners as he opened his radio show: ‘Welcome to my new show. This is me, Romesh Ranganathan.
‘I don’t know if you realize, I’m very, very nervous because I’m excited. Saturday mornings with me and you, and I want to meet you.
‘I’m new to Saturday mornings. I know you guys will listen to this slot and think, “Oh, am I going to miss Claudia?” We will all miss Claudia.
‘But I’m here to get to know you and hopefully you’ll realize that ‘he’s different, but he’s still good.’ So I want you to know a little bit about me.’
Commenting on his choice of opening song, Go West’s 1990 hit King Of Wishful Thinking, the comedian said: “You may have been surprised. I’m a hip-hop fan,
“But that’s one of my favorite songs of all time, and the reason I love that song so much is because I once had a terrible, terrible concert.
“It went wrong and I basically played that song over and over again the whole way back from the concert, just to show it.” ‘You above exceeds. I know I will.’

Rob’s upcoming stand-up tour is called Giraffe and to promote it he wore an inflatable giraffe costume at the Brit Awards last month.
Entertainer Rob told Romesh: “I have a gift for you Rom, to tell you that you have done well on your new show and that it is nice to give it to someone.”
Romesh replied: ‘It’s a giant giraffe costume for adults.
Romesh was also joined by traffic and travel reporter Sally Boazman (left), known as Sally Traffic, and offered a pair of custom-made sneakers.

The pair star in Sky comedy series Rob & Romesh Vs and last year co-hosted the Bafta TV awards ceremony.

The shoes featured a painting of his favorite motorway stop, Tebay Services in Penrith, and his favorite route, the M40.
