NEW YORK (AP) – Casey Cizikas and Cal Clutterbuck each had a goal and an assist, Thomas Greiss stopped 38 shots and the New York Islanders beat the league-leader Tampa Bay Lightning 5-1 on Sunday-afternoon.
Brock Nelson, rookie Devon Toews and Josh Bailey also scored when New York scored three goals in the first five minutes and achieved their eleventh victory in 14 games. Matt Martin had two assists to give each player on the fourth line of the Islanders two points.
Ryan McDonagh had a goal and Andrei Vasilevskiy finished with 23 saves for Tampa Bay, which was 18-1-1 in his previous 20. The Lightning – the NHL leaders in victories (35), points (72) and road victories (16) – lost in regulation for only the ninth time this season, but second in the last five games.
With Tampa Bay skating with an extra striker with the goalkeeper pulled away, Greiss – who had 32 stops in the last 40 minutes – made a nice shoulder and moved on his right to Steve Stamkos with 4 ½ minutes left to keep the 4-1. lead.

However, Cizikas pushed New York's lead to 4-0 with just nine minutes left in the period when Martin sent a pass from the right corner to the front to Cizikas, who defeated Vasilevskiy from the left before his eleventh.
McDonagh took the Lightning on the scoreboard with 1:48 in the middle period and defeated Greiss from the left circle for his fifth. It came on Tampa Bay's 28th shot on goal. Stamkos had an assist in the game and gave him seven assists and nine points in his last six games.
The islanders went on for only 20 seconds with the powerplay, when Erik Cernak from Tampa Bay was called for high-sticking. They took advantage 1:01 later when Jordan Eberle sent a pass from behind the goal line to Vasilevski's cross to Nelson, who shot the ball past the goalkeeper's stick. It was the 16th from Nelson and tied him together with captain Anders Lee for the lead of the team.
Clutterbuck doubled the lead at 4:27 with his third of the season, and only since November 15. After Cizikas had a takeaway in the attack zone, he sent the puck to Martin, who passed it in the front and Clutterbuck tapped off with the puck Vasilevsky's left skate and fluttered in the air over the goal line.
Toews made it 3-0, only 16 seconds later, with a shot from the left who plunged for the third of the goal post. It gave the islanders three goals on five shots.
