Cissy Houston, singer and mother of the late soul icon Whitney Houston, has died at age 91.
Houston died Monday surrounded by loved ones at her New Jersey home while receiving palliative care for Alzheimer’s disease, her family said.
A Grammy Award-winning singer known for her collaborations with megastars such as Elvis Presley, her death comes 12 years after Whitney drowned in a Beverly Hills hotel bathtub at just 48 years old.
