Chuck Schumer said Donald Trump had incited an “ erection ” on Friday instead of a Senate floor uprising, making social media users laugh that “ we’re facing a lengthy, tough lawsuit next week. ”
The Senate majority leader made the hilarious blunder when he announced that the House’s impeachment article will be sent to the Senate Monday, kicking off Trump’s impeachment process.
Schumer wanted to point out to lawmakers that the former president was responsible for instigating the MAGA gang that stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6 during a riot that killed five people – including a Capitol police officer.
But the Democrat stumbled upon his words, “rebellion” for “erection” mixed up and given his speech an entirely different meaning.
Chuck Schumer said Donald Trump instigated an “ erection ” Friday instead of a Senate floor uprising, leaving social media users laughing that “ we’re facing a long, tough lawsuit next week. ”
Schumer first stumbled upon Trump’s name before making the embarrassing blunder.
“Make no mistake, there will be a trial and when that trial ends, senators will have to decide whether they believe Donald John – Donald John Trump turned on the erection – rebellion – against the United States,” he said.
Schumer quickly corrected himself and seemed embarrassed at his mistake.
But while both Schumer and his fellow lawmakers pretended nothing had happened, amused viewers quickly took to social media to make fun of the mistake.
“Did Trump give you an erection?” one person joked to Schumer on Twitter.
Another person laughed: “Chuck Schumer said the Senate will vote to decide whether Trump caused an erection!”
One person was playing Schumer trying not to say the word ‘erection’ before it slipped out: ” Chuck’s brain – don’t say erection doesn’t say erection doesn’t say erection, don’t say erection. Chuck- ERECTION Chuck’s brain- S ** t !! ‘
‘I think what makes it so good is that he didn’t miss a beat and went from erection to rebellion. Leader Schumer, stop playing fun and let’s get things done! Get rid of the filibuster! ‘added another.
One person said they were ‘dead’ laughing at the blunder.
‘@SenSchumer just asked the Senate if DJT’ turned on the erection ‘instead of riot and now I’m dead.’
“Make no mistake, there will be a trial and when that trial ends, senators will have to decide whether they believe Donald John – Donald John Trump has incited the erection – rebellion – against the United States,” he said.

“It was an uprising anyway …” one person joked.
Omg Chuck Schumer said an erection. If neither of you has ever had a hard time, I mean, difficulty speaking in public, ”another joked.
One person tweeted that ‘there will be a lot of tough questions during the erection hearing’.

The embarrassing moment comes less than two weeks after Schumer had another brush of sexual innuendo linked to the Capitol riot.
On January 12, a heckler interrupted his press conference in Manhattan to tell Schumer that she was being “ sexually aroused ” while watching him sink under a desk during the riot.
‘You are nothing but a coward. When I saw you hiding under your desk I got sexually aroused about it, ”the woman yelled.
‘I hate you so. I am so happy what they did. ‘
Schumer announced at the start of Friday’s session that house speaker Nancy Pelosi will send the impeachment article Monday.
“I spoke with Speaker Pelosi, who told me the articles will be delivered to the Senate Monday,” Schumer said.
The decision to move forward comes after new Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell made a proposal that would have postponed a trial until mid-February to give Trump’s legal team time to prepare.
But the Democrats want the process to start immediately.
