Christy Turlington celebrated her 56th birthday with a trip to Joshua Tree National Park on Thursday, sharing a rare photo of her snuggling up with her husband Ed Burns.

On Thursday, the supermodel took her instagram to share images from her birthday trip to Joshua Tree National Park in Southern California, including a rare photo of her snuggling with her husband Ed Burns.

The lovebirds were also joined by their mother, former flight attendant Maria Elizabeth Turlington, in the peaceful retirement.

In one snap, the model and her mother posed for a sweet snapshot as they posed in a figure four and joined their hands to create a heart. They donned matching green sweatshirts that said “Joshua Tree National Park” while showing off the vast mountain range and clear skies.

In the caption, the former Calvin Klein model wrote an inspiring tribute with reflection, celebration, gratitude and hope for the year ahead.

In their 21 years together, they have welcomed two children, Grace, 21, and Finn, 18.

“The most important thing for us is that, given our careers, we never travel at the same time,” he told the outlet.

‘If a job came up for me or her, we would have to make a decision. If they happened at the same time, someone would have to stop by, so there would always be someone home.’

He added: “That was the most important rule we had.” We agreed on that from the beginning and fortunately it really worked for us and, I think most importantly, it worked for the kids.
