The Cali-born, New Jersey-raised actress also admitted that she suffered from anorexia for a year in her teens.
“The number of years I’ve spent obsessed with trying to make sure no one can criticize you for your appearance…I’ve really embraced this body positivity thing,” Christina said.
“It’s a great relief to know that no one can call you fat. (When) people complain about things like that, I always say, “Haven’t you heard? We don’t have to worry about that anymore!”
Ricci has changed since welcoming her two sons: Frederick, 9; and his 15-month-old daughter Cleopatra from her marriage to Dolly Grip James Heerdegen and hairdresser Mark Hampton.
“I had gotten to a very nihilistic place when I had my son,” the Wednesday star recalled.
“So it made me more emotional and more willing to admit that I’m human.”
When Christina was preparing to reprise her role as ruthless nurse Misty Quigley in the second season of Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson’s time-jumping drama Yellowjackets, which premieres March 26 on Showtime, she watched the first season with little Frederick even though it was rated for television. -MOTHER.
“I sat down with him so I could jump on any inappropriate parts, which there are a lot of,” Ricci said.

To her surprise, the eccentric character of the Harley Quinn & The Joker: Sound Mind actress has a love interest this season: citizen detective Walter, played by Lord of the Rings alumnus Elijah Wood.
“I did all this press talking about how I thought she wasn’t interested in men and would never have been in a relationship, and then they were like, ‘Bam! Season two, love interest!” Christina laughed.
“The idea baffled me, and whether or not the characters become romantically involved is something that will be discovered as people see this. But if I had to have a love interest like this character, I’m really happy it’s Elijah, because he’s wonderful to work with.’
Ricci will voice Kit and her alter ego Ivana Viktimm in Paul McComas and Holly Trasti’s animated drama Unplugged.
The Independent Spirit Award nominee has a role as Dr. Dresden Corliss in Michael Ryan’s sci-fi film The Dresden Sun, to be distributed by VMI Worldwide.
Christina will also reprise her role as Nevermore Academy botany professor Marilyn Thornhill/Laurel Gates in the Tim Burton spinoff series Wednesday, which Netflix officially renewed for a second season on January 6.
