49ers coach reveals full extent of Christian McCaffrey injury after star man limped out of Bills game

Christian McCaffrey is expected to be sidelined for six weeks with a PCL injury, San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan has announced.

McCaffrey, who will not undergo surgery, limped off injured in Sunday’s 35-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills, having only recently made his long-awaited return from an Achilles tendon problem.

There were fears that the running back had suffered another serious injury, which would again keep him out of action for an extended period.

But while his season is likely over, McCaffrey’s latest fitness problem isn’t a major one.

The running back has been placed on injured reserve after his latest setback.
