Chrissy Teigen shared an emotional update with her 41.9 million Instagram followers amid the devastating wildfires ravaging Southern California.
The 39-year-old cookbook author, who is among the more than 100,000 residents of the City of Los Angeles forced to flee their homes due to multiple fires burning uncontrollably in the greater Los Angeles area, revealed that she was in shock.
“This is surreal,” she captioned a selfie in her closet mirror while raising her hand to her mouth. ‘I’m very scared now. Packaging.’
The mother of four stood next to a black suitcase and was presumably gathering her most prized belongings before fleeing with her husband John Legend and children Luna Simone, Miles Theodore, Esti Maxine and Wren Alexander.
In a previous post on his Instagram Story, he admitted to being at a loss for words when describing the out-of-control wildfires as a “hellscape.”
“We are fine right now, and I felt weird saying that with so many people we know and don’t know who aren’t fine,” she wrote. ‘Thank you for communicating. If you’re looking for any and all ways to help our community right now, please submit everything you see.

The former Sports Illustrated Swimmer cover girl concluded her post by writing, “And God bless the firefighters and all the first responders.”
Teigen appeared to be leaving her $17.5 Beverly Hills mansion, which she and Legend purchased in 2020.
In August 2023, the couple, who married in 2013, shared photos of their impressive renovations when they opened their doors to Architectural Digest.
“We love how open it feels and how it’s so connected to the outside,” Legend said of his place, before explaining that his last home was “darker and more cloistered, like a sanctuary.”
He continued: “We were drawn to this place because of its lightness and airiness… We wanted to create something magical, especially for children.”
Since the fires broke out, several of Hollywood’s biggest celebrities have been left picking up the pieces after their wealthy neighborhoods were reduced to ashes and rubble.
The death toll from the historic infernos has reached five, as heroic firefighters still battle hellish conditions on the front lines of at least five different fires.
The homes of Anthony Hopkins, John Goodman and Miles Teller are among those destroyed, while dozens of other stars now face an anxious wait with their neighbors to find out if anything can be saved.

Paris Hilton also lost her beachfront home in Malibu, and revealed she found out it burned to the ground on live television.
“Sitting with my family, watching the news and watching our house in Malibu burn to the ground on live television is something no one should have to experience,” the socialite, 43, said on X/Twitter, accompanied by a KABC clip depicting the damage.
The This Is Paris star, who shares two one-year-old children with husband Carter Reum, 43, son Phoenix Barron and daughter London Marilyn, said she was “heartbroken beyond words” amid the damaging forest fires.
“This house was where we made so many precious memories,” Hilton said. “It’s where Phoenix took its first steps and where we dreamed of building a lifetime of memories with London.”
He continued: ‘Although the loss is overwhelming, I hold on to the gratitude that my family is safe. My heart and prayers go out to all the families affected by these fires.
‘To all the people who have lost their homes, their memories and their beloved pets. My sorrow for those still in danger or grieving greater losses.’

Hilton said “the devastation is unimaginable” and “knowing that so many are waking up today without the place they called home is truly heartbreaking.”
Hilton said members of its 11:11 Media Impact Team were “reaching out to nonprofit organizations today to find out how we can best support the communities affected by these fires” and remain “committed to offering help as soon as possible and make a significant difference. for those who need it most.”
He added: “To the brave firefighters and first responders who risk their lives to protect us: you are true heroes.”

Hilton encouraged her followers to “stay safe and follow evacuation orders” amid these difficult times, as “you never know when everything could change.”

Sources told TMZ that the house burned in the fire was not the “primary residence” the hotel heiress lives in, as she owns “several properties,” including a mansion in Beverly Hills.
Anna Faris; Adam Brody and Leighton Meester; Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag; James Woods; Eugenio Levy; Miles, Keleigh Teller and John Goodman also lost their homes in the fires.
Jamie Lee Curtis, Mark Hamill and Mandy Moore were among the celebrities who said they had to evacuate their homes.
