Chrissy Teigen has revealed that her six-year-old son Miles has type 1 diabetes after posting a photo of him with an insulin monitor on his arm.
Sharing a photo of Miles and her eight-year-old daughter Luna holding signs at the Paris Olympics, she wrote: ‘A lot of you noticed something a little special about a photo I posted a few days ago – Luna, Miles and I celebrating Simone and Team USA.’
‘Miles raised his arm and so many of you came forward to say the most beautiful and incredible words I have ever witnessed on this platform.
‘They looked at her type 1 diabetes monitor and gave her so much love and encouragement in every way possible. I was, and am, so amazed by the kindness of this community.
She added that “things could be much worse” and her family feels blessed to have the help of a specialist.
Chrissy Teigen has revealed that her six-year-old son Miles has type 1 diabetes after posting a photo of him with an insulin monitor on his arm.
‘A couple of weeks ago, our Miles was sick in the hospital with a terrible case of shigella, an intestinal infection caused by bacteria present in food or water. Many of his friends were also sick, as they had gone to the same camp and, well, that happens!
“But doctors knew there was something else in her blood tests that didn’t add up. I’ve since learned that this is how many young children are diagnosed with type 1 diabetes: they go to the hospital for something completely different.
“After further testing, we learned that he is in the ‘honeymoon period’ of his life with type 1 diabetes. We gave him his first insulin injection last night and here we are! A new and different world for us and we are definitely learning a lot as we go.”
“This message is to thank you for your generosity. It helps Miles a lot to know that there are many other people going through the same thing and that he is not alone.”
Last month the mother of four took to Instagram to share photos of herself with her husband. John Legend and their four children.
In the first snap, the brunette beauty sat on a couch and posed alongside kids Esti, 18 months, Luna and one-year-old Miles and Wren.
Chrissy, who recently saw Justin Timberlake in concert, went bare-faced and showed off her natural beauty while sporting a black sweater and leggings.
“Not even Facetune can fix this tired look. It’s too deep lol,” she wrote in the caption.
‘I’m very happy to be able to have a few days of vacation with my family after a few intense months of work.’
“They looked at her Type 1 diabetes monitor and gave her so much love and encouragement in every way possible. I was, and am, so amazed by the kindness of this community,” she wrote.
Chrissy Teigen took to Instagram on Saturday to share adorable photos of herself with her four children: Esti, Luna, Miles and Wren.
She shares her four children with her husband John Legend, 45.
Teigen wore her highlighted locks up in a ponytail and appeared to be in good spirits in the photo.

The All of Me hitmaker looked comfortable in blue palm tree shorts and a simple black T-shirt.
Although they travel frequently for work and pleasure, the parents of four have made it a point to enjoy some time together regularly.
“Chrissy and I have committed to taking a staycation one night a month to get away from the kids,” the Beauty and the Beast singer recently revealed at the Voices of Beauty Summit.
In 2020, Legend featured Spotify that his chart-topping single All of Me was about his wife, whom he married in 2013.
“I feel so honored to know that we created something that has meant so much to so many people,” he told the music streaming platform.
‘I wrote this song to express to the woman I love how I feel about her when we were about to commit to living together for life.
“But often the best songs are able to express something in a way that is both personal and universal. I’m grateful to know that lovers around the world have connected with this song and made it their own,” he concluded.

Teigen and Legend were first linked in September 2006 while filming his music video for Stereo, in which Teigen, then 20, plays his romantic interest.
“We did the music video, we were together for like 12 hours,” the mother of four shared with Wendy Williams.
“We spent the whole day together, me in my underwear and him in a full suit, and I went to say goodbye to him at his hotel, and we never said goodbye that night,” she concluded.
