Chrissie Swan’s ‘worst interview ever’ with Sam Newman is finally revealed after unbroadcast audio comes to light – as the Nova radio host and AFL star begin a brutal war of words on this subject.
Chrissie Swan started a brutal war of words with Sam Newman on Tuesday when she revealed it was the worst celebrity interview she’s ever had.
Now journalist Peter Ford claims he knows the truth behind the offensive interview which forced the Nova FM radio host, 49, to “leave” the studio.
The radio station didn’t air the tape of The Masked Singer panelist breaking out in tears, but Peter revealed all the details on Ross and Russ from 3AW THURSDAY.
“It was all about being a grid girl and how they excluded grid girls from the Grand Prix,” he told hosts Ross Stevenson and Russell Howcroft.
“She was in favor of it, Sam wasn’t and Sam had suggested that being a grid girl probably wasn’t going to be a career option for her. That’s what upset her.

The former AFL player, 77, made the remark while Chrissie was still co-hosting Nova FM Melbourne’s Chrissie, Sam and Browny show, which ran from 2016 to 2022.
Daily Mail Australia has contacted Chrissie and Sam for comment.
Chrissie has since said it was the worst celebrity interview she’s ever had, while Sam claimed she was “unprofessional” and a “coward” for leaving the show at that time.

“What a coward to ask someone to come in and then walk out of the studio with an opinion on a topic we were talking about,” he told News Corp on Tuesday.
“I just gave my opinion and she left, it’s unprofessional.” What a coward.
The former Footy Show host disputed Chrissie’s version of events, saying: “I have no doubt that (Nova FM) didn’t broadcast it because they didn’t want to embarrass her.”

The radio station refused to air the tape for fear it might “embarrass” The Masked Singer panelist, but Peter revealed the full details Thursday on 3AW’s Ross & Russ.

“It was all about being a grid girl and how they excluded grid girls from the Grand Prix,” he told hosts Ross Stevenson and Russell Howcroft.
“I never mistreated her. She wanted to get to me,” he said before adding that Chrissie had an “absurd position” on the “current affairs” that were being discussed.
Chrissie opened up about meeting Sam during her podcast on Monday, saying it was “hands down the worst experience” she’s ever had working in media.
Co-host Jack Charles, who was a producer on his radio show at the time, said, “I remember you coming out of the studio…We couldn’t even get the audio out.”
“It was by far the worst. It was a terrible, terrible situation and so unusual in my career to feel so attacked. It was terrible,” Chrissie replied.

Lashing out at Chrissie’s appearance at the time, Sam brutally claimed she wanted the grid girls removed because she wasn’t attractive enough to be one.
