CHRIS SUTTON: It’s Jude Bellingham about Jesse Lingard for me … Gareth Southgate has some tough decisions to make for his Euro 2020 squad, with Kieran Trippier, Eric Dier and James Maddison my big absentees
I sat down on Monday to work out my English squad and Gareth has some tough decisions to make.
You don’t have to use all 26 places – Spanish boss Luis Enrique, for example, only selected 24 – but I’d say it’s better to use your full quota, just in case.
There was no room for Eric Dier in my team. I have plenty of cover in the middle behind Harry Maguire, John Stones, Tyrone Mings and a few in midfield who can get the job done there in an emergency.

Jude Bellingham has received the nod about Jesse Lingard in Chris Sutton’s English Euros selection
Lingard has changed his form since joining West Ham, but is overlooked by Sutton
Congratulations to Kieran Trippier for winning LaLiga, but he didn’t make my roster either, with Kyle Walker, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Reece James taking my right-back and right-back slots.
In midfield, James Maddison doesn’t make the cut, and neither does James Ward-Prowse, no matter how good he is at free kicks.
Jesse Lingard just misses too, along with Callum Hudson-Odoi, Danny Ings and Ollie Watkins.
Overall, I am quite happy with my selection. There are some solid players on display here.
Sutton would also assist Eric Dier, while Gareth Southgate faced several tough choices this month
