However, many viewers focused on something a little closer to home: the funny man’s physical appearance.
Many speculated that the Emmy winner had undergone plastic surgery.
‘What did Chris Rock do to his face?’ asked one viewer, sharing a screenshot of the 59-year-old actor from his opening monologue on X/Twitter.
“Chris Rock’s plastic surgeon needs to have his license revoked,” said one viewer.
‘Look… I’m not afraid to ask the TOUGH questions… What’s going on with Chris Rock’s face???’ another asked, continuing: “He has more filler in his face than a popsicle of twinkies.”

The Grammy winner once joked about having a small drink in 2018 when he was promoting his film The Week Of with his friend Adam Sandler.
“I had a lot of plastic surgery,” the actor joked when asked Extra how he had changed since his 2005 film with Sandler, The Longest Yard. My ears have worked. “These are some of the tightest ears in the business,” he joked.
Sandler, 58, made a cameo in a play Saturday night as a patient who woke up during an operation performed by Rock’s character.
Rock has teamed up with SNL alum Leslie Jones for the upcoming I Am Maurice.
The drama focuses on a Haitian immigrant who comes to the United States after the 2010 earthquake to fulfill his dream of being a boxer.
Weekend Update host Michael Che is producing the film, along with Damon Wayans Jr and Hasan Minhaj.
Rock, known for his adult humor, made headlines when he crashed his performance at an Australian billionaire’s party last week.
Viewers who watched his monologue were concerned about the physical appearance of the 59-year-old funnyman.
Other viewers made similar comments, trolling the comic about his appearance, suggesting he had undergone cosmetic surgery.
