Chris Hughes defended his ex-girlfriend Jesy Nelson after Katie Hopkins lashed her out on Twitter on Monday.
The 27-year-old Love Island star commented on the former student contestant’s tweet, 45, in which she posted two Instagram shots of the Little Mix singer, 28, in bikinis.
Katie: ‘These desperate daily photos show that the appearance of a documentary is not genuine. Girls. Be better than this. Beauty is strong, not a weakness that needs to be validated daily. ‘

Jesy’s ex-boyfriend Chris was quick to defend the singer when he hit back at Katie and praised the singer’s ‘strength, beauty and heart’.
He wrote angrily, “How about not being a b *** h all your life and letting that person live. You tried it once years ago, and it affected her mentally, just don’t be such a jerk.
“She has strength, she has beauty, and she has a heart that only you could dream of.”
Chris joined hundreds of Jesy’s fans who also took to Twitter to defend the singer and retrace the tweet.

But Katie was not put off by the response and later tweeted, “Husband: why are you trending on Twitter? Me: because I asked girls to be strong. #katiehopkins. ‘
Chris’s fans also praised the former Love Island star for defending his ex-girlfriend, even though they split up in April.
One person posted a GIF from Jennifer Lopez who clapped and said, “The award for the best ex ever goes to.”
Another fan stated, “I think we all need an ex who still defends our name after we’re done.”

Jesy and Chris broke up in April because they isolated themselves in separate households during the COVID-19 crisis. They dated from 16 months.
In October, Jesy revealed that after years of relentless trolling, she tried to take her own life.

The singer first opened up about her heartbreaking ordeal in her BBC documentary Jesy Nelson: Odd One Out, which has won multiple awards since then.
The star revealed that at the height of her bullying, after the group’s X Factor win in 2011, she overdosed, but was saved by her boyfriend at the time.
Jesy talked about her harrowing time and said in her documentary, “I remember thinking,” I just need this to go, I’m going to end this. “
“I remember going to the kitchen and taking as many tablets as I could. Then I lay in bed for centuries, thinking, “Let it happen. Hurry up”.

Wings hitmaker chose to speak about her suicide bid in November 2013 in an effort to raise awareness about the terrible effect trolls can have on young people.
The documentary also showed that the brunette beauty struggled so much with her abuse that it affected her mental health, making her struggle to fulfill her obligations in the girl group.
She said labeling the “fat, ugly” completely “swallowed every part of me” while trolling took its toll.
