Chris Eubank Jr has apparently confirmed speculation that he will indeed fight Terence Crawford.
iFL TV reported on Friday morning that the American and Brit were in talks for a surprise fight in the summer.
The report indicated that pound-for-pound number one Crawford would jump two divisions to face Eubank Jr.
And the Brit responded by posting a mock fight poster in X with a silent face emoji.
The poster confirms the claims about the weight class, stating that it will take place at middleweight.
Chris Eubank Jr shared this image in response to recent reports that a fight was in the works.
Both boxers are said to be “close to reaching an agreement” with the date and venue yet to be confirmed.
If the fight is confirmed, trainer Brian ‘Bomac’ McIntyre will be left in an awkward position.
McIntyre currently trains both men having begun working with Eubank Jr ahead of his rematch with Liam Smith.
Eubank Jr will no doubt want to maintain the relationship after what was the best performance of his career, but McIntyre has been with Crawford since he was a teenager.
The two fighters have the same coach and are coming off great victories.
Crawford has not competed since beating Errol Spence to unify the welterweight titles.
He was expected to rematch Spence, but his rival is sidelined after undergoing cataract surgery.
