Sicha is retiring from his position as editor of the publication’s styles section to focus on expanding his newsletter portfolio. Sicha joined the section in September 2017, expanding its roster of reporters and freelancers, as well as the tone and the issues it should address. Recent articles include a guide to social media etiquette and a piece on expensive cat toys. The New York Times has not yet announced Sicha’s successor.

No media release has been immune to the newsletter boom, with several prominent writers and editors leaving publications to launch their own subscription-based options. Sicha, along with editor Sam Dolnick and editor-in-chief Adam Pasick, will help advance the Times’ series of newsletters.
