A mother praised for her selflessness has died after breaking her leg and suffering serious complications.
Chloe Phippen, 39, died at Sydney’s Royal Prince Alfred Hospital on January 4 with her family at her side.
Ms Phippen succumbed to an ongoing infection due to her fractured femur.
A colleague at Sydney’s Legacy and Legacy Club Services recalled the caring 39-year-old’s heart.
“It is with great sadness that I report the passing of Chloe Phippen,” he wrote.
‘Our work wife for the past 15 years and highly respected advocate for veterans’ families and subject matter expert within the veteran and family community.’
Her husband, Jamie Phippen, told Daily Mail Australia that his wife loved helping others.
‘My family and I are honored by the work he did. She was unique,’ he said.
A long-time nonprofit worker has died after suffering tragic complications from a leg injury.
‘My wife Chloe had a beautiful soul and loved helping the families of deceased veterans.
‘To be honest, she loved helping everyone. She always put others first.
“She was my best friend and my soulmate, and I’m completely devastated.”
He added a heartbreaking tribute on Facebook and left a heartfelt reminder for others.
‘By now some of you may know that we have recently lost our beloved Chloe; “Words cannot describe the pain I feel,” Mr. Phippen wrote.
‘For 23 and a half years, more than half of our lives, she was my support, my moral compass and my everything.
‘The countless families she has supported throughout her career sometimes did not understand how much of herself she invested.
‘How much of herself she put into her work. She really cared.

Phippen had taken time off work to help his wife while she battled the infection.
He said he never felt like he deserved to have someone “so special” to share his life with.
“She was kind, beautiful and selfless to a fault. “She was proud, she was fiery, she was stubborn, she was the best mother, she was the best wife,” he said.
He said everyone should appreciate the people around them while they are present.
“Don’t leave today without taking stock of those you love,” Phippen said.
‘We thought we had more than 30 years left to see the world, but for us, now was the time to focus on raising Liam and Lily. We keep putting things off.
‘Don’t procrastinate.
“Hug your partner and enjoy life together.”
She now takes care of the couple’s 17- and 10-year-old children.
Phippen’s sister, Leah Jenner, said her sister-in-law made everyone feel lucky to know her.
“Although his time on this earth was short, he left a lasting impact that will never be forgotten,” he said.
He started a GoFundMe page to help his brother.
