Chilling footage captured the moment three men armed with a sword, a baseball bat and a metal pipe allegedly took housemates hostage and robbed them.
The incident occurred at a home in Adelaide on Sunday.
One of the residents said he felt like a hostage as the trio ransacked the home, taking a credit card and car keys.
“They said, ‘I’ll hurt you, I’ll beat you, I’ll kill you,’ and all that,” one resident told reporters.
“I thought they were murdering me… it’s a hostage situation, because you can’t do anything, there’s a sword, there’s a bat.”
Burglars broke into the inner northeast home early Sunday in the suburb of Lightsview.
A home security camera in the living room captured the armed intruders leading the housemates upstairs, while demanding gold and other valuables.
All of the men wore head-to-toe black and navy suits, including balaclavas and gloves. One of them was wearing a white hat, another was wearing a hoodie, and the third was wearing a black cap.

The intruders made the housemates board.
The sword wielded by a thief was about 50 or 60 cm long and had a stylized handle.
After searching the rooms, the thieves realize that a security camera is filming them and turn off the device.
The ordeal lasted about 30 minutes, before the robbers fled through the back door they had originally entered through.
Police said investigations are ongoing.
