The Kansas City Chiefs are rooting for Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes to emerge victorious in their Final Four matchup against UConn on Friday night.

Before Clark’s matchup with Huskies star Paige Bueckers, the reigning Super Bowl champions posted a childhood photo of Clark wearing Chiefs gear and expressed their support.

You encouraged us. “Now it’s our turn,” the team captioned. “The entire Chiefs Kingdom is rooting for you tonight.”

Meanwhile, the Minnesota Vikings made a similar post for Bueckers on Thursday. The Vikings posted a snapshot of the Edina, Minnesota native wearing his jersey while he held a Viking helmet.

“She grew up cheering us on and now we’re cheering her on,” they wrote. ‘Good luck in the Women’s Final Four Paige!!’

After dominating the headlines by leading Iowa to a championship game appearance last year, Clark’s star has shined brighter this season as a senior.

Prior to the NCAA Tournament, Clark averaged 31.9 points, 7.3 rebounds and 8.9 assists per game as a senior and will likely be the Indiana Fever’s No. 1 overall pick in April’s WNBA Draft.

Another highlight of his season was when Clark broke Pete Maravich’s all-time NCAA scoring record on March 3. In a game against Ohio State, Clark surpassed Pistol Pete’s career-high 3,667 points by reaching 3,685.

Clark scored a game-high 41 points against LSU to help Iowa punch a Final Four berth.

On the other hand, Bueckers returned healthy this season after back-to-back knee surgeries limited her play the past two years. The 2020-21 Player of the Year led the Huskies’ campaign as UConn looks to win championships again.

They beat JuJu Watkins and the USC Trojans, 80-73, in the Elite Eight to move on. Bueckers played all 40 minutes and recorded a double-double with 28 points and 10 rebounds.

Iowa and UConn will kick off on Friday at 9:30 pm ET, with the winner playing in the Championship Game on Sunday against the winner between NC State and South Carolina.
