‘I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve gone to family gatherings or talked to someone in the store who found out I work at Chick-fil-A and asked, ‘When is that banana pudding shake coming back? ‘” Chick-fil-A chef Christy Cook told USA Today.
“When I think of banana pudding, I think of family gatherings, community and something where I get together with friends, and that’s what we want to convey with this shake,” Cook said.
Chick-Fil-A will also introduce a new version of its hit Honey Pepper Chicken Sandwich on the same day as the Banana Pudding Milkshake.
The sandwich will be the spicy sibling of the original, which was introduced to rave reviews from consumers last year.
“It’s really about leveraging the original, without hiding it in any way,” Chick-fil-A’s chief culinary developer Stuart Tracy told USA Today.
“A lot of customers would customize it with a spicy steak instead of our original steak,” Tracy said.
“That was my secret favorite dish for a long time. I just like spicier things.”
The new sandwich will feature a spicy steak, mild pickled jalapeños, pimento cheese and a drizzle of honey on toasted bread.
