Chicago’s epic comeback against the Toronto Raptors might not have happened if DeMar DeRozan had left her daughter, Diar, at school.
Instead, DeRozan’s daughter came to her father’s old land at the Scotiabank Center in Toronto. DeMar, who now plays for the Bulls, helped his team come back in a big way to beat the Raptors and advance further in the championship.
Part of that reason could be how poor Toronto is at shooting from the free-throw line — and Diar played a key role in that.
The girl screamed her heart out every time the Raptors took a free throw and the results spoke for themselves.
Toronto shot 18 of 36 (50 percent) from the bar charity — including late in the game when Pascal Siakam missed two of his three free throws in the final seconds. The Raptors have averaged 78.4 percent from the free throw line this season.

Diar helped Chicago by shouting during Toronto’s free throws as the Raptors only shot 50%.
Diar’s performance did not go unnoticed — she was highlighted on ESPN broadcasts and on alternate broadcasts by longtime ESPN NBA reporter and First Take host Stephen A. smith.
“Torontos shoot (badly) from the free throw line, because they scream every time they shoot,” Smith noted.
After the match, DeMar revealed how close he was to keeping her in the house because she had to be at school.
“You know it’s crazy, my daughter called me the other day when she was getting out of school,” DeRozan explained. And she said “Dad can I come to the Toronto game” I remember she went to all the Toronto games as a kid.
‘I almost said no because she’s home at school. She kept asking, she was adamant about coming and supporting (us).
And I said “Well you can miss school one day and come to a game” and I’m glad I did. I definitely owe her some money.

Demar finished the night with 23 points, seven rebounds and three assists in the win.
The Bulls now travel to Miami to take on the Heat in the final game of the tournament to determine the eighth seed, but Diar will not be joining him.
