A Chicago-based TikToker has been accused of lying about a negative experience she had at the Hubbard Inn.
Julia Reel posted a video on the social media platform accusing Hubabrd Inn bouncers of ‘manhandling’ her and sending her ‘flying down the stairs’.
The Hubbard Inn, located at 110 W Hubbard St, withstood a lot of online criticism, including claims of violence, before deciding to release surveillance footage of the alleged incident and tell their side of the story.
They posted the surveillance footage along with Reel’s Tiktok, where she speaks at length about the alleged assault she claims to have endured at the hands of Hubbard Inn bouncers.
There was a dramatic contrast between Reel’s claims and what the surveillance footage showed.
Chicago-based TikToker Julia Reel claimed she was grabbed and pushed downstairs at the Hubbard Inn by the establishment’s bouncer. Hubbard Inn’s video apparently proves otherwise
The Hubbard Inn footage depicts the bouncer walking in front of and with Reel and her friend without any physical altercation
According to the Hubbard Inn, Reel’s roommate apologized for her behavior
“So they grab us right away,” Reel tells his TikTok followers. “They don’t even give us a chance to go out on our own.”
The Hubbard Inn footage shows the bouncer, arms down at his side, professionally ushering Reel and her friend off the stage.
Below Hubbard Inn’s video, some text appears saying that Reel’s roommate ‘repeatedly apologized for her behavior’.
‘I’m immediately taken by this man,’ Reel continues and pantomimes being pulled by the shoulder. And he grabs my arm. He’s pushing me. He manipulates me.
‘What happens? What is the problem here? Why are you throwing us out? Why are you screaming at us?
“Why do you grab me and men and drag me?”
The video played footage of Reel and a bouncer walking in a calm and undramatic manner down a corridor.
The Hubbard Inn zooms in on the surveillance footage, which makes the interaction between Reel and the bouncer more visible.
They appear to exchange some words as they head for the exit, but in the footage, the bouncer does not grab or grab or pull Reel.
When they reach the stairs, Reel says, ‘I just got pushed down.’

But footage provided by the Hubbard Inn shows the bouncer leading Reel and a friend downstairs without pushing or shoving
The bouncer then proceeds to escort the two off the premises
Finally, the two are seen leaving the inn without any problems
The Hubbard Inn feels the video vindicates them after Reel’s public accusations on TikTok
‘He’s sending me flying down the stairs,’ she claims, making a flinging motion with her hand like a flourish.
She continues: ‘(I’m) hysterical at this point. I think I start yelling, screaming back at him, like pushing him back.’
“And he takes me a second time,” Reel tells us. “And pushes me again and sends me flying down the rest of the stairs,” she said, making a shoving motion to better illustrate her experience.
The surveillance footage shows Reel and her friend walking down the stairs without a problem.
The two seem unhurriedly climbing down the stairs, and the bouncer, far from pushing Reel, shines a flashlight to light their way down.
The bouncer then directs Reel and her friend towards the exit.
Towards the end of the inn’s video, text appears saying: ‘She was politely escorted off the premises ensuring a safe exit.’
And: ‘Ms. The coil was not thrown from two sets of stairs.’
The video cuts back to Reel, who says: ‘It was the craziest experience I’ve ever been in. It was completely and utterly ridiculous how much it escalated.’
Then the video shows the security footage one last time, and in it Reel and her friend are seen leaving the inn with some drama.
Reel did not immediately respond to DailyMail.com’s request for comment.
