The final mentorship is pop singer Griff, who will collaborate with singer-songwriter Kamille, who has worked with Sam Smith and Rihanna throughout her career.

Speaking of the importance of mentoring, he said, “It was a long struggle to figure out how things work themselves.
“And what it does while you do it robs you of time. It means that you are unable to do your core behavior and the most important thing for me is writing.
“When I don’t write, I feel like I’m wasting my time. All the time when new artists can’t do what they’re good at and enjoy, is a waste of time. ‘

He said the important established artists were “direct people who are clearly very talented in an environment that has changed so much.”
He added, “There are a lot of other skills you need to know – how to get through the process of delivering your music to the audience, finding and keeping that audience.
“The dream is to be able to finance your life by doing the work that people hopefully love.”
Another mentor on the schedule is Kamille, real name Camille Purcell, who has written over 20 songs for Little Mix, as well as mentor acts on The X Factor.

The singer-songwriter, accompanied by Griff, said, ‘When I look at my career, I realize I’ve had mentors along the way and a lot of people don’t – they have to find their way on their own.
“And it’s a very difficult road. This is a very hard industry. You don’t know when your next chance comes, or your next big break.
“You don’t even know if you can survive and support yourself financially.
“To have someone here to encourage you and just be there for you, help put your songs in the right place and just listen to your music. This arrangement is important, essential. ‘

Speaking about what she wants to encourage in her mentee, she said, “All I’ve seen is that magic in music can come from anywhere.
“I’ve seen how many different ways a hit can be. It is never what you expect. I have learned not to accept things and I am now much more open-minded about where success can come.
“As music changes and the way people consume music, it’s about never expecting things and trying new things.
“From Stormzy to Mabel to Little Mix, all these artists have is creativity.”
