Chevy Chase shared a sweet photo of himself joyfully hugging his baby granddaughter on Monday.
Many fans were delighted by the sweet display on Instagram, but others shared their concern in the comments section, as the Vacation star, 81, was sporting a huge black eye in the photo.
He didn’t bother to explain the dark bruises, which looked fairly fresh, and some fans joked in the comments that he had been ‘walking with Jay Leno,’ after the former Tonight Show host allegedly fell down a hill outside his hotel. , which left half of her face covered in a dark bruise and required her to initially wear an eye patch.
That incident followed an earlier accident in which Leno suffered severe burns while working on his classic cars in his garage, although thankfully he appears to have fully recovered from both terrifying incidents.
The Chevy rep calmed fans down later that day when they clarified TMZ that everything was fine with the former Saturday Night Live star.

Chevy’s photo showed him smiling widely while sitting in one photo and wrapping his granddaughter Ivy Jay Baglieri in a warm hug.
Ivy is the daughter of her youngest daughter Emily Chase, 36, and her partner Alex Baglieri. Chevy shares Emily with his third wife, Jayni Chase, whom he married in 1982.
“@em_chases and @alex.baglieri brought my beautiful granddaughter,” Chevy wrote, concluding with a cheeky joke. Look at her butt! .”
In March, Chevy joyfully announced that he was about to become a grandfather after Emily revealed her pregnancy.
