After a strong first week on ABC’s Dancing With the Stars, Cheryl Burke revealed she tested positive for COVID-19, putting her season in jeopardy.

The 37-year-old dance pro, who was linked to Peleton’s Cody Rigsby for season 30, took to Instagram to share the news in a video.

Burke got emotional in the video because she believed she was disappointing her partner by testing positive for COVID-19.

The video began with Burke driving her vehicle at 7 a.m. on Sunday, telling her she was on her way to take a COVID test.

“Not only do I feel scared and wordless, I also feel a bit exhausted,” Burke said in the video.

She added that she didn’t want to let Cody down because “our salsa was so good,” referring to their season premiere.

Burke added that she has been fully vaccinated with both injections of the Moderna vaccine and added that her blood type is O positive.

She later came back and confirmed what she suspected was that she had contracted COVID-19.

“I feel worse and worse,” she said, before getting emotional and adding, “I feel so bad.”
