Chelsea ‘bet Declan Rice as N’Golo Kante quits the Blues for Real Madrid while French star Paul Pogba leads LaLiga’s wish list’
- Real Madrid is going to step up her hunt for N’Golo Kante this summer
- The Spanish side is said to prefer him over countryman Paul Pogba
- When Kante moves to Bernabeu, Chelsea is ‘ready to move for Declan Rice’
- The West Ham star is an ex-Blues academy player and will be moving soon
Declan Rice could be tasked with filling the enormous void that N’Golo Kante will leave at Chelsea if the Frenchman is lured to Real Madrid this summer.
The Spanish giants have long followed the defensive midfielder, whose unique interception and transition skills reinforce his place among the best in the world.
Kante has been injured this season and struggled to make a consistent impact in Chelsea’s Champions League push, but he’s reportedly still ahead of Paul Pogba on Bernabeu’s wish list.

If Real can lure another talisman from Blues – after stealing Eden Hazard last summer – West London side sees Rice as a natural replacement, according to the Mirror.
Rice rose through the Stamford Bridge side academy before being poached by West Ham, where he broke into the first team in 18 years and has now become a fixture in England.
The midfielder became close friends with Mason Mount in the Blues system, and the two have remained close friends ever since, Rice tells Copa 90“I’d like to play with him again at club level.”

The Hammers are 16th in the Premier League, while still remaining on shutdown and hovering uncertainly above the relegation zone at 27 points, equivalent to 18th place Bournemouth.
Rice will be the target of several top clubs this summer, and the East London side will struggle to hold him despite the expected impact of the corona virus on transfer fees.
Manchester United, Madrid and Arsenal are other clubs that are said to weigh up a move for the midfielder.
