According to BBC Sport, Havertz’s next club doesn’t have to be in the Champions League.

The German international is said to have the long-term ambitions of a club as significant as the top league in Europe.
Chelsea is in third place in the Premier League table, just one point ahead of the last Champions League qualifying spot with three games to go.
Frank Lampard has already brought in Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech this summer, but faces competition from LaLiga giants Real Madrid in the fight to take over Havertz’s services.

Last week, it was reported that Havertz Leverkusen has said he wants to play elsewhere after the conclusion of the 2019-20 Bundesliga campaign.
Havertz’s performance propelled the club to fifth place in the German top flight, while also finishing second in the German Cup.
The star is estimated to be at £ 75 million, but Chelsea must be willing to offer its £ 90 million release clause if they want to close a deal.
