Chelsea striker Kai Havertz ‘agrees personal terms with Arsenal and wants move to Gunners’… with Mikel Arteta’s side preparing new offer

  • Chelsea striker Kai Havertz agreed personal terms ahead of Arsenal transfer
  • The 24-year-old striker is keen to join Mikel Arteta’s side this summer
  • Arsenal reportedly optimistic about completing deal after international break

Kai Havertz has reportedly agreed personal terms with Arsenal ahead of a potential move to the Emirates.

Mikel Arteta has long been an admirer of the Arsenal striker, and a deal has been agreed between the player and the Gunners, according to a Tweeter by Fabrice Romano.

Havertz is currently on international duty with Germany and played the full 90 minutes as Hansi Flick’s side suffered a 1-0 loss to Poland in a friendly on Friday.

While a fee between the two clubs has yet to be agreed, Arsenal are said to be confident of completing the deal after the international break.

The Gunners reportedly opened talks earlier this week with a £60m valuation of the 24-year-old and offered a wage of around £200,000 a week.

However, Chelsea are believed to be playing hard on their valuation of the striker and want a minimum of £70million for Havertz, whose current contract at Stamford Bridge is due to expire in 2025.

Havertz joined Chelsea in 2020 from Bayer Leverkusen, signing a five-year deal with the west London club beating competition from Manchester United and Real Madrid to sign the prospect.

Despite scoring just four league goals in 27 appearances in his first campaign with the club, Havertz was the hero of the club’s victory in the 2021 Champions League final against Man City, scoring the only goal of the match as Thomas Tuchel’s team were crowned European champions.

A regular fixture under Graham Potter, a knee injury towards the end of last season limited Havertz’s involvement as Chelsea suffered a gruesome end to an overall disappointing campaign as Frank Lampard temporarily returned to Stamford Bridge .
