  • There have been talks between Chelsea and Newcastle for the forward

Chelsea have requested information regarding Newcastle striker Alexander Isak.

Mail Sport understands that talks have taken place between the clubs and that the Blues have indicated their desire to sign the Swedish international.

They know that any agreement would mean a record figure for the club beyond the 115 million pounds they paid for Moisés Caicedo.

Isak scored 25 goals last season and is one of the most popular properties in Europe. His market value is at least double the £63m that Newcastle paid Real Sociedad in the summer of 2022.

In his two seasons at St James’ Park, Isak has scored 35 goals and, although his first campaign was affected by injury, last season he established himself as one of the most feared forwards in the Premier League.

Eddie Howe wants to keep stars like Isak and Bruno Guimaraes, but the club has already officially admitted that each player has his price in a world of profitability and sustainability rules.

While there has been talk of Isak agreeing a new contract at Newcastle, we understand that is not yet the case.

Chelsea have called for a number of forwards this summer as they search for the goalscorer to take them to the next level.

They are finalizing a £5m deal for 18-year-old Barcelona striker Marc Guiu, but also want a proven finisher for Enzo Maresca.

They have spoken to Lille about Canadian international Jonathan David, Aston Villa about Jhon Durán and Hoffenheim about Maximilian Beier, while Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin was further down their list. They also rejected a £27m bid for Samuel Omorodion from Atletico Madrid.

Chelsea also want a winger after losing Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise to Bayern Munich.
