Chelsea are making a formal bid for MANCHESTER UNITED winger Alejandro Garnacho.

The Stamford Bridge club made their initial inquiries last week with United seeking £65m for the 20-year-old.

Napoli have made offers ranging between £45m and £50m but have now opened parallel negotiations with Borussia Dortmund for Karim Adeyemi.

Garnacho’s agents, Carlos Cambeiro and Quique de Lucas, were at Chelsea’s game against Wolves on Monday and are open to their client moving to London.

As he qualifies as home, the sale of Garnacho would give United clear profits and greater room for maneuver under PSR guidelines, especially as they face the prospect of failing to qualify for the Champions League this summer.

United continue talks with Lecce for Patrick Dorgu, who is a few months younger than Garnacho and would fit Rubén Amorim’s playing style at left back.

Chelsea acknowledge that an offer of around £60m, including add-ons, could seal the deal with Garnacho willing to make the move.

His representatives had not been asking for big wages from United following his emergence as a key player over the past 18 months, so his desired terms will remain in line with Chelsea’s wage structure.
