Chelsea have unveiled their ‘youthful energy, style and London culture-inspired’ third kit ahead of the new Champions League campaign.
The reigning European champions will find out in the group stage of the tournament on Thursday evening who they will face to defend the trophy they won in Porto in May.
A statement with the launch of the kit on the the official website of the club “While Chelsea strives to add even more credit to the Champions League title we won last season, the 2021/22 club’s third kit reflects a modern era for the club, marked by youthful energy and all that goes with it. “

It adds: ‘The green and black have long been associated with standout Nike outerwear, the crimson brings vibrancy and that pop of color reflects the club’s youthful energy.
“The ‘Pride of London’ logo is also featured on the inside of the shirt, serving as a reminder of the club’s values and status in the capital.”
Meanwhile, they said on social media that the shirt was ready to take center stage “under the European lights.”

Chelsea stars Mateo Kovacic, Hakim Ziyech and Antonio Rudiger can all be seen in the picture in the new jersey.
Most fans on social media were enthusiastic about the kit, while others asked instead when the club will confirm the signings of Jules Kunde from Sevilla and Saul Niguez from Atletico Madrid.
One supporter commented: “You really haven’t made a kit that I like from the first glance,” while another Twitter user replied: “We love it… But announce Saul and Kounde ASAP.”
There were others who noted that the kit was ‘made for’ Chelsea star Hakim Ziyech compared to Ajax’s green away kit from the 2019-20 season.
One Twitter user posted: “This kit is made for Hakim Ziyech,” while another commented: “Ajax Ziyech is back in full force.”
Chelsea supporters can pick up the kit online from the club shop, with a ‘match shirt’ for £104.95 and a ‘stadium version’ for £69.95.
The kit was unveiled on the day Chelsea will find out who they will face in the Champions League draw.
Thomas Tuchel’s side won the trophy last season by beating Manchester City 1-0 thanks to a goal from Kai Havertz.
Some Chelsea fans commented that the kit was ‘made for Hakim Ziyech’ who wore green at Ajax
