Chelsea have reportedly increased their interest in Bayern Munich defender Niklas Sule.

Sule’s future in Bavaria is increasingly uncertain as members of the Bavarian hierarchy have doubts about him.
The off-field fallout of Hansi Flick who revealed he will be leaving at the end of the season has also complicated the situation with contracts.
The same report says talks at Chelsea about Sule have “ increased in recent weeks ” with the Germany international a long-standing target.
Thomas Tuchel would like to bring in a new center this summer with Sule as a potential target
Sule, 25, has a little over a year to go with his deal and it is believed there have been no discussions about an extension yet.
Notably, Chelsea’s backline has grown stronger since Tuchel’s arrival in January following Frank Lampard’s resignation.
However, the center of defense is still the tactician, with most of his current choices all haunted by lingering question marks.
Thiago Silva may activate a one-year option to extend his West London deal, but has yet to do so, while terms for Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen and Cesar Azpilicueta are also on the wane.
Sule’s future at Bayern is unclear and members of the club doubt whether he will take it a step further
Sule is therefore considered by Chelsea as a strong candidate who may win in the coming months.
The departure of Jerome Boateng and David Alaba will free up competition for Sule at his current club – although there are some who believe the former Hoffenheim stud is not ready to make the move.
His form and fitness have at times been devastated during his time with the Bundesliga champions and Sule is said to have felt a lack of support about this.
But despite the unclear situation, Sule is credited as being ‘relaxed’ and is aware that there will be no lack of interest when shown the exit door.
