Chelsea closed out their dismal pre-season with a 1-1 draw against Inter Milan at Stamford Bridge.

Enzo Maresca’s men prepared for the upcoming campaign with three defeats from six games as Lesley Ugochukwu’s late goal spared them any embarrassment on Sunday.

The Italian coach has fielded a strong team against the Serie A champions ahead of next weekend’s Premier League opener.

Cole Palmer, who was given an extended break after reaching the Euro 2024 final with England, was given his first minutes of pre-season alongside Marc Cucurella and Nicholas Jackson.

However, the west London club found themselves behind after 26 minutes thanks to Marcus Thuram’s shot from the edge of the box.
