Chelsea ‘also in talks for Manchester City defender Nathan Ake as well as Raheem Sterling’
Chelsea ‘start negotiations on the possibility of signing Manchester City defender Nathan Ake’ and Raheem Sterling – with Blues looking for huge double deal
- Chelsea have been linked with a transfer to Raheem Sterling in recent weeks
- They have now contacted Manchester City in a bid to sign the winger
- Reporters claim they have also asked for an appraisal for defender Nathan Ake
Chelsea have reportedly held talks with Manchester City over the prospect of signing both Nathan Ake and Raheem Sterling.
Sportsmail reported Monday that Todd Boehly has contacted the Premier League champions to finalize a deal with Sterling in the coming week.
The Englishman has already had positive talks with Blues boss Thomas Tuchel about how he would be deployed at Stamford Bridge, and that conversation reinforced the 27-year-old’s desire to leave the Etihad Stadium.

And The Telegraph claim Boehly has also requested a valuation for Ake, who has risen to the top of their list of potential defensive purchases.
Tuchel was interested in signing Ake while in charge of Borussia Dortmund and the fact that the 27-year-old can slide in on the left side of a back three to replace Antonio Rudiger, as well as left-back and in midfield is particularly appealing.
Ake spent seven years with Blues and joined them at age 15.
It is believed he would be open to a return, having failed to secure a solid starting position at the Etihad.

City are allowing Gabriel Jesus to make the move to Arsenal for an initial £45million and Sterling’s valuation is expected to be north of that figure and could be around £55million.
A formal offer is expected in the coming days as City’s roster reshuffle continues after a fourth title in five years. Chelsea have yet to agree personal terms with the England international, who is in the final 12 months of his £300,000-a-week contract.
It is believed Sterling’s desire to end a stellar seven-year stay with City was discussed with club management at the beginning of the month. City have given the attacker time to assess his options, with a likely exit being settled amicably.
