If Alonso leaves Chelsea as expected, Ben Chilwell and Baba Rahman will be the only senior left-backs left in Thomas Tuchel’s roster.
However, the Englishman has only just returned from six months on the sidelines with a cruciate ligament injury, while the Ghanaian spent last season on loan at Championship club Reading and is unlikely to have much of a future at Stamford Bridge.
Ait-Nouri, who has five caps for the French Under-21, was initially loaned to Wolves van Angers in October 2020, before making the switch final at the end of that season.
He made 51 appearances in all competitions for the Black Country outfit, delivering two goals and seven assists.

Angers is believed to have a 50 percent resale clause for Ait-Nouri, who Wolves has the option to buy out. Ait-Nouri still has four years left on his contract with Molineux.
Meanwhile, former Chelsea midfielder Charly Musonda trains with Belgium’s Zulte Waregem as he tries to find his next club after leaving the Blues.
The 25-year-old, who made seven first-team appearances for Chelsea, has not played a minute of senior football in the past two seasons and is now expiring on his contract.
