Chelsea 6-0 Birmingham: Emma Hayes’ side run riot in WSL at Kingsmeadow thanks to Samantha Kerr hat-trick and brace from star striker Fran Kirby

Sam Kerr in form completed a hat-trick in the first half when Chelsea outclassed struggling Birmingham City 6-0 at Kingsmeadow.
The Blues had to wait until the 25th minute to break the deadlock, when Erin Cuthbert hit an oblique drive that forced Hannah Hampton to produce only a save for Kerr to convert the rebound with a close-range effort.
Just before half time, Chelsea doubled their lead via Australian Kerr, who reacted quickly and bundled a header past Hampton.

Pernille Harder’s header hit the post, but Chelsea claimed their third goal after Cuthbert hit a stunning cross that found Kerr, whose header on the far post completed her hat-trick.
There was no interruption on the part of Emma Hayes after the break and they scored a fourth after a great build-up game between Niamh Charles and Bethany. England on the right found Fran Kirby, who threw the ball into the net in the 61st minute. .
Kirby then became a provider and executed a low cross to find Guro Reiten, who converted to give Chelsea their fifth goal of the game.
Chelsea added their sixth goal late via England star Kirby, who jumped brilliantly into the box and made a curling attempt past Hampton.
